OBIA Fundraiser a Huge Success

On May 8, 2008, the OBIA (Ontario Brain Injury Association) in association with BIST (the Brain Injury Society of Toronto) held its Annual Mix & Mingle. Neinstein & Associates attended and sponsored the event which helped to raise over $30,000 for the two organizations.
Over the past 4 years, OBIA and BIST have celebrated many successes. The success of both organizations are based on the belief that working together, not only with each other but with the ABI community, is the most effective way to enhance the lives of Ontarians living with the effects of Brain Injury.
Neinstein & Associates are proud members and supporters of both the OBIA and BIST.

A Guide To Mediation: What You Should Know
Many of our cases go through mediation. Mediation is normally a day-long process, where the parties and their lawyers get together with a neutral third party chosen by both sides (the mediator), and try to settle the dispute before it gets to trial. Here are some things you should know when walking into a mediation:
Mediation is one of the most common methods of settling claims in Ontario. Under Ontario's Rules of Civil Procedure, mediation in tort cases, where one person sues another for relief, is mandatory.
